Great information. Apropriate for these dangerous times. I've been concerned for quite some time and have in fact taken your Survive in place course. Your presentation and format is excellent. Anyone can greeatly improve their chances of survival by paying attention and following your suggestions and guidelines. One of the greatest challenges that I have faced is getting family and very close friends awarea nd "on board" without causing them to panic. It's somewhat amusing to see the different reactions that range from enthusiasm to depression. Keep up the good work. By the way, great marketing strategies on your part!

Also pay attention to "Pairs" of suspecious looking people ,,,Most the time criminals work in pairs, one is the "Spotter/Distraction" watch if you can , let them "KNOW" you see them . Observe how the interact with one another/body language.Look for odd behavior( Not to be confused with people being silly or joking ) but look for the "Creepy Vibe" ....People with bad intentions almost always look uneasy and nervous, they fidget alot right before crime .
Pay special attention to people "Staring/watching" you. The person who is looking at you the "Hardest" is ALMOST ALWAYS THE ONE WHO IS THE BIGGEST THREAT TO YOU ! Look for "Angry Looks" listen for "remarks" they may make . Many utter something before the attack . If you foget everything remember this .........If he/they give you bad "vibe" BEWARE !!! Listen to that inner "Gut Feeling" God gave that to you for a reason !!!

Great information and learning to think and assess people you see throughout the day! Even though we can have a license to carry a firearm with the proper training and certification, we still can not carry them into public places. I am getting ready to study for an Associates degree in Criminal Justice, then an Associates degree in psychology so your information fits right in. Thank you!

Very WELL done David! This is IMPORTANT material & you're suggestions are quite right on!

It just so happens that I was taught by a SPECFOR "operator" Trainer, and you've done NEARLY as well!

"Tire Iron" [his call sign], taught us what he termed "THE O.O.T.A. Loop" discipline, for obtaining HIGH Situational Awareness, without being too obvious: OBSERVE -- ORIENT -- TACTICAL -- ACTION, and each was fully detailed and explained so that the student actually began utilizing this discipline on leaving the class room.

He also alerted us to the real truth that 95% of the "serious" situations that he'd alerted to, where the BEST approached was choosing the 3rd option of the 3 choices you ALWAYS have:
#1] Ignore, no biggie;
#2] Approach will best neutralize; and
#3]Avoid, leave, flee -- which ever is more appropriate to the circumstances.

And, as you said, that 3rd option is REGULARLY the BEST, and RARELY a "FLEE" necessity IF you note the situation early enough.

Security (both general & specific), has been HIGH on my training regime for years, as it is the BEST method for staying alive in "iffy" circumstances...such as I dealt with for nearly 12 years in South America, as a non-denominational field Missionary. THANKS David! VERY well done!

good hints,learned even more from people's comments. Getting stuff together but it's a slow process, being retired and with limited funds. Have to take a gun course first, and get a weapon. hopefully it'll be for game; yeah have to learn how to hunt, too. At least I started gardening 2 years ago and was quite successful. But I like meat on occasion. looking forward to continuing receiving your writings, meanwhile, I'll be practicing awareness.
Thanks
